Neuroanatomy of White Matter Tract
Time: 10:00-13:00, October 1(Tuesday), 2013
Place: COEX Grandballroom 104
This workshop is to provide recent advances on brain white matter anatomy. The connectomics becomes gradually important for the understanding of normal and abnormal neurological functions. Thanks to the advance of high field MRI technology, diffusion tensor image or tractography of the white matter of human brain in vivo made it possible to visualize the fine fiber tracts of the brain, such as thalamo-limbic fiber system as well as the well known fasciculus. Its application in deep brain stimulation and also stereotactic surgery is expected. Classic white matter tracts of the brain will be shown through dissection of the cadaver brains and the results will be correlated with in vivo tractography. In summary participant would be benefited for the detailed understanding of the white matter in general, but particularly of limbic system and Papez circuit through this workshop.
